Healthcare Services
Service Provision
Rural Health Access Canada provides mobile clinic services, telehealth consultations, nursing station care, medical transportation coordination, digital health equity programs, and community health worker services to rural and remote communities across Canada.
Professional Relationship
Healthcare services establish a professional patient-provider relationship. Healthcare providers exercise independent clinical judgment in accordance with professional standards and applicable legislation.
Emergency Services
Telehealth services are not appropriate for medical emergencies. In emergencies, call emergency services immediately (911) or go to the nearest emergency department.
Patient Responsibilities
- Accurate Information: Provide complete and accurate health information
- Compliance: Follow treatment plans and healthcare provider recommendations
- Appointment Attendance: Attend scheduled appointments or provide advance notice of cancellation
- Respectful Conduct: Treat healthcare staff and other patients with respect
- Privacy Protection: Safeguard login credentials and personal health information
Telehealth Services
Technology Requirements
Telehealth services require reliable internet connectivity, compatible devices with camera and microphone, and appropriate software or applications. Technical difficulties may occasionally interrupt services.
Telehealth Limitations
Virtual consultations have inherent limitations compared to in-person examinations. Healthcare providers may require in-person assessments when clinically necessary.
Privacy and Security
Telehealth consultations use encrypted communication platforms. Patients should ensure privacy during virtual appointments and avoid conducting consultations in public spaces.
Transportation Services
Medical transportation services are subject to availability, weather conditions, and eligibility criteria. Rural Health Access Canada coordinates transportation but does not guarantee availability in all circumstances. Emergency transport prioritization may affect non-emergency scheduling.

Liability and Disclaimers
Professional Standards
Healthcare services are provided according to applicable professional standards. Healthcare providers maintain professional liability insurance as required by regulatory colleges.
Service Availability
While we strive for continuous service availability, services may be interrupted due to maintenance, technical issues, weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances. We are not liable for service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
Third-Party Services
We coordinate with third-party service providers (laboratories, imaging facilities, transportation providers). We are not responsible for third-party service quality or availability.
Confidentiality
Personal health information confidentiality is maintained according to Canadian privacy legislation and our Privacy Policy. Healthcare providers follow professional confidentiality standards with legal exceptions for mandatory reporting.
Consent to Treatment
Healthcare services require informed consent. Healthcare providers explain proposed treatments, risks, benefits, and alternatives. Patients have the right to refuse treatment.
Complaints and Concerns
Patients with concerns about healthcare services should contact our patient relations department. Complaints about professional conduct may be directed to appropriate regulatory colleges.
Program Eligibility
Certain programs (transportation assistance, device distribution, training programs) have eligibility criteria based on residence, income, medical necessity, or other factors. Eligibility decisions are made according to program guidelines.
Changes to Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated periodically. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms. Significant changes will be communicated to service users.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Canada and applicable provincial legislation. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Canadian courts.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
